Changing your Pve --> Pvp
I knew I'd have to write this someday... I know its not going to be complete though. Its going to take alot of updates to figure out the general/ more specifics on what items are used for a pve--> pvp
So I guess I'll start with monk since i actually play monk
Monk
Monks for the most part use:
+health armor(ezier to stop spike) your gona want about 600
helmit uses minor rune.
Energy Denial Set - -5/15% weapon +30. -5 energy fan( 12-->3-5=-2) or a shield
This is great to counter malaise/wither since u can just switch to 0 energy ez and those 2 skills turn off. Also, if you are going againts a mesmer with e-burn/surge you might want to sit in this set, since it has armor and -energy, or you can go to ur defense/offense, and switch to this set whenever you think the mesmer is going to eburn/surge u.
Offensive Set - Healing- 20/20recharge 20/20 fast cast wand. 20/20 recharge 20/20 fast cast offhand.
20/20 recharge, 20/20 fast cast, 20/20 fast cast inscrip, 20% enchant mod-staff.
Defensive - This set reduces the amt of damage you receive(pretty obvious)
Your going to want a weapon(spear,axe,sword) with +5, a crippling mod(for return) +30 or +5 ar, and a Shield +10vs____ +30.
Sometimes you can put an enchanting weapon in replace of your +5 or +30 weapon.
Emergency Set- - weapon(w/e) and a +15/-1 +30 offhand. I chose to use the weapon as a none +15/-1 because I can also attach the 20% if needed. Use this for an emergency heal like when you can use zealous benediction or something that can save your party.*warning do not die in emergency set or you will be screwed. If you die, its always a good idea to try to die in ur e-denial set, because when you switch to the defense- you can get more energy than normal.
I believe that most spell casters use this template though.
Warrior
Hmmm I dont play war extremely alot- so im not 100% sure of these items, but I do know the general(i hope)
Armor: Energy armor is usually used( i think) since you don't need as much health due to the extra armor. Can use a superior rune for same reason.
Shields: 5/20 +30, +10____ ar +30, 20% reduces blind/weakness +30. These are the most general.
Weapons:
General Set:Vampiric/ Sundering +30. These are generally help add damage well.
I think dervish use 20% instead of +30 though(not sure)
Vs Wars: Elemental prefix.
This goes straight through the 20 AR of wars.
Energy: Zealous. I don't really like zealous mods - but from what i've seen alot of people use them because they help. I guess i just suck at war and don't know how to use them... =(
Far distance: Spear 10/10 adrenaline, +30 and a shield. If you ever get in a stand off where both teams are seperate and for some reason not attacking, use this to boost your adrenaline in the meanwhile so you can charge up for a quick spike.
Assasin
Zealous mod wep, +5 e, +30
vampiric mod dagger +5,+30
defense set- general
Armor: + health, all minors. want around 600 life since very ez to die.
Weapons:
General:
Zealous is extremely helpful and +30.
Might want a life steal mod for a spike
Defensive set: Shield +30 5/20, +10___AR 20% reduce blind/cripple/weakness ect. And a weapon of defense is preferable.
This is for ganking mainly when you are very close to dying and need to run away.
Rangers
Damage - Hornbow, short bow. Hornbow adds damage (10% armor pentration), and short bow has the fastest firing rate. Going to want 5/1 or 20/20 with +30.
Interrupt- Recurve- most accurage, and fastest fly time = good interrupts. going to want 20/20 or w/e suffix and +30
Spam- +5 short bow, since short bow is the most spamable, (also make sure you have recurve since itll help when u need to interrupt) 20% bleeding or poisen w/ +30.

Re: Changing your Pve --> Pvp
-5/20% is as useful as a 15<50
Get +10 armor vs. ___ shields with a +30 hp mod. You get a 8 al from the shield then +10 vs. whatever type the shield has.

Re: Changing your Pve --> Pvp
My mesmer is using the 2 end game faction item...
+30HP
Recharge Illusion Skill
+12 Energy
+5Energy
Recharge Inspiration Skill
Doing great in arenas... why a mesmer would need a casting time? Fast casting ftw.

Re: Changing your Pve --> Pvp
hmmmmm what's good for a pvp nerco...???
i don't know much...but i usually go with a 15 energy set(wand and offhand) 1 15 energy set(just the wand is 15 energy, the offhand isn't) 1 normal set( staff/wand offhand with 20% reduce on HRC AND HSC but with the stander energy)
i usually use my spiking nerco, since i found that i win more on that build than my wiki build(see here: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:N/any_Spoil_Victor_Necro)
since with a 3 sin + 1 nerco(that's me) spiking team, i have killed 8 teams in a row this way, since we always spike the monk to death 1st, and then the devs and then the spellcasters, last tanks. i guess that caused some chaos in the other team......
but if any1 got advice on what weapon i should choose for my pvp nerco, plz do.

its 1. a start, and 2. universal. And it takes a while to accumulate all the +10's. I only got 2 of them atm.
Re: Changing your Pve --> Pvp
i could solo farm you guys 2 geoffer's if you guys pay me 4k each lol....im poor.....plus i get LOTS flags by doing that...

Sticky
Ranger
Spiking:
Vampiric Hornbow of Fortitude:
Vampiric mod will give you more damage then a sundering mod. Even thought he hornbow has a slow refire rate the attack skills with casting time ignore this. The hornbow has 10% armor penetration all the time so its good for damage.
Non vampiric longbow/flatbow etc.
Something to keep you from hp degen when you aren't doing a spike but still allowing you to spread damage/conditions etc.
Bunny Thumper:
Sundering Hammer of Fortitude:
For a while i was using zealous but it really doesn't make that much difference energywise as long as you get enough expertise for RaO to cost about 14 energy. Therefore sundering will increase your damage nicely.

Re: Changing your Pve --> Pvp
you use burning arrow for spiking? i found it useful in ra.....especially when the target is a noob tank that only knows: rush to you>attack>getting killed
Guest- Guest
Re: Changing your Pve --> Pvp
yeah i've seen burning arrow used in a spike. Rather useful if your target is just about to die but not quite there
