In case you're wondering why, it has to do with the recent buff of Spirit's Strength (yet no buff of IW!)

observe:
Spirit's Strength:
-ADDS 33 damage, meaning it can use the benefits of other added damage (i.e. attack skills and conjure -spells)
-can be used at range
-susceptible to block/blind/damage reduction

IW
-always deals 42 damage and ignores other bonus damage and the use of attack skills
-must be used in melee
-ignores blind/block/damage reduction

as is, I believe the advantages and disadvantages of each add up, HOWEVER, IW costs 15 energy and must be used twice as often as SS, which only costs 5, which is SERIOUSLY IMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF ANet

lol spirit's strength? never heard of it.....but yeah anet did some pretty bad updates recently

hey that's not bad....it may work well in a rt focused team, like that 1 spirit/monk spiker team that we fought like 2 or 3 month ago.

IW ignore the armor... Spirit's Strengh doesn't.

im pretty sure it does actually ignore armor, just by quick observations i did in isle of the nameless with 60 AL vs. 100

but even if it doesn't its still imba, both skills have about equal bonuses and drawbacks yet their energy costs and durations are tipped way in favor of spirit's strength

well, you gotta look at the effects they can be used:

IW can be used to "warrior", together with imagned burden, you can make a mes spike group that can kill meleers in seconds flat, since the dmg is armor ignoing, general enchantments wouldn't help. also remember that even with 8 Illusion Magic you deal 25 dmg and if you play as a dev, you can do 25 dmg to upto 3 targets and blind skills have no effect on you whatsoever, plus if you use like sig of stamina, you will get the health boost and you CAN still attacking, as IW makes all of ur attacks "miss". this can be used to devesating power by devs, if its not for the forms.

Also SS(spirt's strength, too long a name), only makes your attacks go up, and that dmg is "+" dmg it only adds 29 dmg to ur attacks, it doesn't simply ignore ur dmg and do its own armor ignoring dmg like IW. Also, both skills are enchants, but SS requires you to place a weapon spell on urself, which isn't too likely as rts often use weapon spells on melee and/or casters. So if you want to use SS's effect to full, you'll have to keep a weapon spell on you at all times. Rt is also more of a supporting class than a front fighting class like eles imo.So Anet wants ppl to use SS more, and i guess that's why you think Anet like SS more than IW, they want ppl to use SS more often, because, really, it suks in a general rt build.

i've never used spirits strength...

and i bet you never will, it is a elite rt skill that suk unless you fight with ur rt all the time

weeeeee seen a SS (spirit's strength) today in RA won like 7 games striaght

spirit strength isnt popular mainly because its only useful with rit primary, and btw combat you also have to look at how much damage wars do... they do more damage than a SS rit but they have more armor too... the only reason sins are so good is because they are able to do quick spikes and tele or run out of there. otherwise, they would be stuck and prolly never used.

yeah....but if u r gonna play a sin, u better be good cause you are jumping into the "wolfs' den" ahead of the rest of ur teammates and if the enemies are quick, they can quickly kill you if the monk isn't in range yet.....and if you tele out then you have to wait for skills/energy to Recharge/regenerate and then do the spike again, this time more obvious......

i saw a rt spirit strength in ab the other day... =D he ran ahead of me when we charged the ele capture point thus he got pwnxored and i lived to cap

true, warriors do outdamage both, but im not comparing warrior damage to SS and IW, im comparing IW to SS, and as it stands, SS>IW, and two skills that are so similar should be better balanced

lol but if neither is used often why does it matter...? like if a build is imba but no one plays it why do anything about it until it becomes a problem? like the conjure ___ they realized it became too imba so they changed it... unless it becomes used on a regular basis nothing will happen to it.

supposedly pple were only using the conjure because it got upped then it got downed the next day... so now it sucks again. maybe thats what u arte talking about

but i just want moebius on my sin cause 1. i could prob figure out something cool to use it for (pve) and 2. i love the web of disruption horns of oxe sin pressure.(tearz u say it sucks then u suck pfft :p)

yeah.. i seen ALOT ppl(like 7-8 out of 10) uses the conjure____,and it does do quite some damage in a strike to 2(i got like 22 dmg from that and the extra dmg from the attacker's original attack) so it can put pressure even 'spike' the target to death if 3 ppl stayed on that target for like 5-10sec.

james..... y don't u just unlock moebius in pvp and see how it goes? i seen sins uses it as the "last attack" as then most of ur attack(if not all) are rcing, so its a good way to renew ur skills without waiting.

lol he has in PvP (used like 100+ times prolly) he just needs for his PvE sin so he can use him to PvP

yep.. i have all non-elites unlocked in pvp, and i hope all the useful elites locked in pvp too.
