The idea behind this build is to give your team lots of buffed up defense through Symbiosis. It also uses Grenth's to remove your target's enchantments so he doesn't get the benefits while you kill him. The bonder (which does work, I've tested it) gives an automatic enchantment to everyone. Life Bond as well as the other enchantments make the Dervish INSANELY difficult to kill. The Ranger stays well back and his pet is a reliable tank, so the only real defensive liabilty is the mesmer, whose build at this point is very flexible.

Ran this today with the Dervish and Monk as seen above, Ranger is a RaO Thumper with Symbiosis and a BSurge Ele...worked amazing. We got 4 or 5 (flawless, I might add), then Tearz had to go so we ran another game monkless and still won. I think we can give this a big check for working. Very Happy

ya, rao works much better, pure beast master generally doesnt do to well, but when combined it works great.

yeah we did it in TA. Its major weakness is the damned grenth dervishes especially if they target the monk b/c the monk then can't get energy once balth spirit is removed Sad

ouch, maybe you should get a snare mes(with crippling anguish and/or mantra of illusions or whatever that skill which increase the duration of illusion spell is)....or maybe get a tank in there?

get a tank in there? the dervish is frickin invincible against anything but a grenth dervish. Also I think the build should be able to stand up against a Grenth's dervish if as soon as the blinder notices a dervish is using Grenth's, his sole purpose becomes to blind it.

mantra of persistence isn't really ideal for pvp since it probably won't last the ordinary duration before someone removes it tho

but still crippling anguish + mantra of persistence + conjure phantasm can still be quite a pressure. and the other team have to use an enchantment removal on YOU. thus keeping some of their enchant removal skills to target more vital players like the monk or the dev.

keep in mind this is PvP forum not PvE, so some things dont apply the same way they would in explorable areas (like mobs attacking you or skills that are useful in PvE). when criticizing other peoples' builds, you need to look at it from a different prospective: instead of looking at the skills themself, look at how each skill contributes to the team.

not sure i quite understand your comment about them using enchant removal on you and saving it for the monk or dervish, mantra of persistence is a stance and conjure phantasm and crippling anguish are hexes, so i don't see why enchant removal is relevant in that context

wat i was trying to say is that it you deal pressure on people, they will want to take you out, thus targeting you. If you got an enchant on you, they will want to remove the enchant thus making the monks have a bit more chance of been ignored of enchat removal.......

degen would be helpful to add more pressure, but the mesmer still needs to have defense, because a bonding monk just won't cut it without help, ineptitude could be helpful, but i think bsurge is much more flexible so i would do a bsurge illusion mesmer
